MyHowl: Nov 29 - Dec 5

Sunday
Well I got a run in today. It feels good to be back on track. Actually, the weather was pleasant and my 12 run was decent. It felt more pleasant than my memory has allowed. Looks like I have to occupy my time in Deerfield Beach for my remaining days in Florida (through Saturday). I guess this week is best summarized with a Joy Division song lyric:

ISOLATION
In fear every day, every evening,
He calls her aloud from above,
Carefully watched for a reason,
Painstaking devotion and love,
Surrendered to self preservation,
From others who care for themselves.
A blindness that touches perfection,
But hurts just like anything else.-
Isolation, isolation, isolation.-
Mother I tried please believe me,
I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through,
I'm ashamed of the person I am.
-
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
-
But if you could just see the beauty,
These things I could never describe,
These pleasures a wayward distraction,
This is my one lucky prize.-
Isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation.

Saturday
Flying to South Florida today - I couldn't enter the West Palm Marathon and since I didn't even get my rental car until about 1 am - racing would have been a bad idea anyway. I ended up going to IHOP and drinking coffee and then tried to sleep a bit in the car.
Thursday
I do not know if this qualifies or not, but I am happy to report that I am running strong despite my 'running injury' - a broken heart.
Monday
My running update for November. Despite 6 rest days, I still managed 291.1 total running miles; or an average of 12.13 miles every time I laced up my sneakers. Already in 2015, I have logged my most miles for one year, 2,748.59. If I maintain a rigorous pace in December, I will eclipse a new milestone, 3000 miles! With 31 days left in 2015, I am just 251 miles short of this touchstone.

Sunday
Off and running - this is going to be a great week for me.
